<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a vehicle entering on one's own lane with accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In the entering decision apparatus, a calculation part 11 recognizes a front-traveling vehicle (n) on the basis of preview information and calculates a speed Vnx in a transverse direction and a speed Vnz in a longitudinal direction with respect to its own car with the recognized front car (n) as an object to be processed. An area set part 12 sets an entering decision area S for classifying the recognized front-traveling vehicle (n) into entering vehicles and non-entering vehicles on the basis of the preview information in such a way that its own lane is covered.
