<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the speed up and the efficient browsing of a retrieval result document. <P>SOLUTION: When displaying the text of a document selected from a retrieval result list, a document retrieval apparatus sets, to individual retrieval character strings appearing in the selected text of the document, links to the retrieval document strings immediately after each of the above individual retrieval character strings as shown in the figure. The retrieval character strings in the text are successively clicked so that only parts where the retrieval character strings appear in the retrieval result document can be quickly and efficiently moved. Also, the last retrieval character string in the document is linked to the first retrieval character string in the next document, so that it is not necessary to return to the retrieval result list from the document text each time. Also, it is possible to set the links not only to the direction of the document end/next document but also to the direction of the document head/previous document. When positions where the retrieval character strings appear are largely isolated in the retrieval result document, or when a plurality of documents can be acquired as the retrieval result, the document retrieval apparatus is especially effective. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
