<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve muffling performance in a low speed rotation area of an engine, in an exhaust system of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: In this exhaust system of the engine, an exhaust pipe 1 for flowing exhaust gas from the engine E, is branched off into a first exhaust pipe 11 and a second exhaust pipe 12 via a branch part 2; an opening-closing valve V is arranged in the first exhaust pipe 11; a muffler M2 is arranged in the second exhaust pipe 12; the exhaust gas is exhausted in the atmosphere only from the second exhaust pipe 12 by closing the opening-closing valve V in the low speed rotation area of the engine E; and the exhaust gas is exhausted in the atmosphere from both exhaust pipes of the first exhaust pipe 11 and the second exhaust pipe 12 by opening the opening-closing valve V in a high speed rotation area of the engine E. The exhaust system constitutes a resonance pipe to the exhaust gas out of a part up to the opening-closing valve V from the branch part 2 in the first exhaust pipe 11 when closing the opening-closing valve V. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
