<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for a carbonization treatment with which a discharged gas can be cleaned by a simple method without relying on combustion and without requiring much time and labor. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 100 for the carbonization treatment is equipped with a water tank 61 communicating with a carbonization chamber 14 and storing water in the interior thereof and a discharged gas cleaning apparatus 60 having an ozonizer 80 as an oxidizing agent introducing means for introducing the oxidizing agent into the water tank 61. A large amount of the discharged gas emitted according to the carbonization of combustible organic materials in the carbonization chamber 14 is introduced into the water tank 61 communicating with the carbonization chamber 14. Water vapor gas in the introduced gas is cooled with the water stored in the water tank 61, converted into water and mixed with the water in the water tank 61. On the other hand, combustible gases in the introduced gas are cooled with the water in the water tank 61 and condensed to become a liquid material. Furthermore, the liquid material is oxidized into a bubble state by actions of the oxidizing agent of the ozone produced from the ozonizer 80. The material converted into the bubble state is collected with a filter, removed and disposed.
