PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive ink high in thermal stability by using a protective agent mainly comprising a protein, and metallic nanoparticles, and to provide an electric circuit forming method using the same. SOLUTION: The conductive ink contains metallic nanoparticles mainly comprising a noble metal or Cu and a protective agent mainly comprising a protein. The metallic nanoparticles are coated with the protective agent and the rate of dispersion of metallic nanoparticle average diameters is <1/3 of the average diameter. It is preferred in particular that a protein having a hollow shell of a specified diameter, as represented by the ferritin family or by certain viruses, is used so that the rate of dispersion of nanoparticle average diameters is smaller than the average nanoparticle diameter.
