PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can prevent the occurrence of poor supply of ink by suppressing the adhesion of solid matter to a channel in the electrical detection of the remaining quantity of the ink. SOLUTION: In an extraction needle 51, a side wall is exposed via an opening 83 while a peripheral edge of an extraction port 53 is covered with a first covering member 81 of an electrical insulating material, and an outside-air introducing needle 52 is bent at a midway point so that an outside-air introducing port 54 can be opened in the direction of becoming far from the extraction needle 51. When a voltage is applied to both the needles 51 and 52 so that the the remaining quantity of the ink can be detected, the side wall of the extraction needle 51, which is exposed via the opening 83, and a side wall, facing the extraction needle 51, of the needle 52 are brought into electrical continuity via the ink. The solid matter, which is deposited from the ink, is prevented from adhering to the extraction port 53 and the port 54 in large quantity. Thus, the channels of the extraction port 53 and the port 54 are prevented from being narrowed, so that the occurrence of the poor supply of the ink can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
