PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time from insertion of a medium to informing that writing to or reading from a medium becomes possible to a host computer from an information storage device. SOLUTION: This method for controlling the revolution of a spindle motor for the information storage device does not switch the number of revolution of the spindle motor before informing the high-order host computer of the information storage device from the information storage device that writing to or reading from the medium becomes possible after insertion of the medium to the information storage device.
