PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic actuator exhibiting greatly enhanced durability, a liquid drop ejecting head employing that electrostatic actuator, a liquid drop ejector employing that liquid drop ejecting head, and an ink jet recorder. SOLUTION: As a method for preventing application of a potential to the protrusion of a variable electrode 10 or a part of the variable electrode 10 facing a protrusion formed on a counter electrode, a slit 42 is formed in the conductive layer of the electrode. Consequently, imbalance of internal stress on the periphery of the protrusion of the variable electrode 10 or the part facing the protrusion is minimized. Since deformation of the variable electrode 10 is prevented, durability is enhanced. A liquid drop ejecting head, a liquid drop ejector, and an ink jet recorder exhibiting enhanced durability is provided by employing that electrostatic actuator. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
