PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for recording power, capable of suppressing the occurrence of a read error by optimizing the intensity of a laser beam with which an optical disk is irradiated and making the formation of pits on the optical disk proper, even when the optical disk is not formed ideally such as when the optical disk is warped. SOLUTION: In the method for recording the optical disk of performing recording of information, by increasing the rotating speed of the optical disk stepwise from an inner peripheral side toward the outer peripheral side, the recording operation is once stopped andβvalue at this time is measured in switching the rotating speed of the optical disk. The measuredβvalue and the targetβvalue are then compared, and theβvalue is corrected.
