PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update software while continuing services provided by a computer. SOLUTION: Format conversion is executed while executing old software so that new software can use a parameter generated by the old software before the new software is switched to. Also, when restarting of the computer is necessary, the new software is written on a nonvolatile medium 102 such as an HDD and a flash memory when acquiring a new program while providing services so that the computer can be operated by the new software.
