PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of an outlet of an exhaust passage of a governor, without causing a problem of back flow of exhaust air from a drain valve into the exhaust passage of the governor. SOLUTION: An air dryer has a pressure governor disposed to a base member 1 with an installation face 29a attached to a vehicle body 30, so that opening/closing of the drain valve which discharge the drain separated from inlet air to the outside is controlled by means of the pressure governor depending on pressure change of dried outlet air. A recess part 31 is formed in the vehicle body installation face 29a, and the recess part 31 forms an atmospheric pressure space between the installation face 29a and the vehicle body 30 to which the installation face 29a is attached.
