PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the forward and backward motion of the cloth fell of a catch cord and facilitate the transmission of the twist of the catch cord formed by the rotation of a rotary spindle to the cloth fell of the catch cord. SOLUTION: The false-twisting apparatus of a shuttleless loom is provided with a rotary spindle to twist a catch cord. An endless guiding edge is attached to the tip end of the rotary spindle in a manner to coincide the center axis line perpendicularly crossing in the guiding edge with the rotary axis line of the rotary spindle. The rotary spindle is placed in a manner that the axis of the rotary spindle is directed perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the warp direction and the catch cord passing the inside of the guiding edge and extending toward the upstream side is bent at the guiding edge.
