PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train control device capable of shortening the intervals of train operation. SOLUTION: The train control device includes a loop 111 laid along the railroad track 100, and train signals S11 are supplied from on-the-train devices 811 and 812 of trains 91 and 92 existing in the loop 111. Each train signal S11 contains the formation number information of the train and the train speed information. An on-the-ground device 20 is supplied with such train signals S11 via the loop 111, calculates the ahead train distance from the train concerned as the reference on the basis of the given train signal S11, prepares a stop pattern for the train on the basis of the ahead train distance and the train speed information, and emits to the loop 111 a speed control signal S21 prepared on the basis of the stop pattern.
