An electric appliance (1) has a housing (4) provided with a housing guide for receiving the carrier rail and having two opposite facing retention lugs (9,10) arranged on the housing guide flanks (7,8) for tightly gripping around the carrier rail. A first retention lug (9) is fixed on the housing and the second lug (10) is a slider (13) partly transverse to the axis (P) of the housing guide (6), displaceable between a closure and open position and which on one side is carried into a housing recess and on the other side is provided with a shaped guide in the region of the second retention lug (10), in which the housing (4) has a corresponding counter profile for supporting the slide guide.
