A sunshine roof panel for a vehicle has a double glass layer with one layer, e.g. the inner layer, sliding w.r.t the outer layer. Both layers have applied surface patterns of opaque and transmitting areas. The user is able to vary the overall light transmission by sliding one layer. This varies the opaque pattern between a basic transmission and fully opaque. The two layers can be incorporated into an opening sunshine roof system.
