A snowboard, or alpine ski, has a moulded construction with a lower gliding layer (2), an inner core (5) and with an upper support surface (13) for the binding. The improvement has raised upper edges flanking the binding support surface and with inner facing undercut profiles to provide a grip for the binding. The binding has a sliding fit between the raised profiles and is secured by simple screw fasteners.
