<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a three-dimensional model in a short period of processing time by fitting to measured data where a data quantity is reduced by thinning. <P>SOLUTION: A method for generating a three-dimensional model includes: a first step (step #21) for calculating, with respect to measured data obtained by measuring an object, interpolation data of parts corresponding to respective points at each point of the measured data based on a plurality of points surrounding each point; a second step (steps #22, 23) for evaluating the degree of approximation between the calculated interpolation data and the measured data; a third step (step #24) for performing data reduction of the measured data by deleting a corresponding point based on the evaluation of the degree of approximation; and a fourth step for deforming a three-dimensional model so as to conform to the measured data where the data reduction is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
