<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power consumption in a control part in a low power mode without increasing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus provided with a fixing means and comprising a stand-by mode for maintaining the fixing temperature of the fixing means at a fixable temperature and a low power mode for maintaining the temperature of a fixing part at temperature lower than the fixable temperature is provided with an engine control part 105 for controlling an engine part in the image forming apparatus, a ROM 108 in which an engine control program for the engine control part 105 is stored, and a control CPU 17 for controlling the engine part of the image forming apparatus on the basis of the engine control program and performing bus access to the ROM 108 at the number of access states which is larger than that of the stand-by mode at the time of the low power mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
