A slicing machine comprises a frame 1 having mounted thereon an electric motor 2 to drive the circular rotary cutter 3 which is provided at its upper part with a protective case 4, a fixed plate 7 having a curved notch 8 into which the knife 3 is mounted, secured to frame 1 by means of a bracket 6 and a movable platform 9 extending at right angles to the fixed plate 7 and cutter 3, the lateral edge furthest from the cutter being bent up at 90 degrees to form a bearing face 10, said platform being fitted with a pair of adjustable transverse partitions 25 and 28 for clamping in position a piece of meat, e.g. sausage, to be cut by the machine in such a way that the main piece of meat, held in position by a sliding member 23, need not be removed from the machine. The machine is fitted with a meat collector 16 parallel to the fixed plate 7 secured to an arm 17 adapted to pivot around shaft 18, said meat collector having a substantially semi-cylindrical upper face and parallel and vertical lateral faces 19 and 20 and a row of small points or studs 21 on its upper face for holding in position a stack of paper sheets for receiving the slices of the main meat, and one or more points or studs 22 on its lateral face 20, said collector also having a front extension in the form of a horizontal tray 29 for receiving the cut pieces of sausage &c. and a raised edge extension 30 to facilitate gripping of the sheets of paper. |
