PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse storage and discharge device capable of efficiently storing refuse with suitably compressing the refuse without enlarging installation space and of preventing scatter of refuse to outside and smoothly and efficiently discharging the refuse by unfolding and discharging compressed refuse. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a transverse type cylindrical storage tank body 2, a plurality of partition plates 3 partitioning the storage tank body 2 into a plurality of chambers in a circumference direction and provided rotatably around a horizontal axis in the storage tank body 2, a loading part 41 provided at a lower part of the storage tank body 2, a loading means 4 provided with a compression transportation means compressing and transporting refuse loaded from the loading part 41 into a chamber positioned at a lower part, a discharging screw 5 provided above a top part of the storage tank body 2 and capable of going up and down between a discharge position entering into a chamber positioned at a top part and a evacuation position for evacuating upward, and a discharging part provided in the storage tank body 2 with facing the chamber position at the top part.
