PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission system for a vehicle in which a fork shaft can be moved to a neutral position together with a shift fork. SOLUTION: The power transmission system includes a main shaft 41 to which a driving gear is attached, and a counter shaft 42 to which a driven gear is attached. A transmission gear train is shifted by dog-clutches D1-D3 into a power-transmission state. A fork shaft 62 is installed axially movably in a case. In the fork shaft 62, a shift fork 65 to be engaged with a dog clutch D3 is installed axially movably. A spring force directed to a 1st-speed transmission-gear train is applied to the fork shaft 62. When the shift fork 65 is to be returned from the 1st-speed transmission-gear train to the neutral position, the fork shaft 62 can be moved against the spring force together with the shift fork 62, even though the shift fork 62 is mechanically locked with the fork shaft 62.
