PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the traction performances of a roller and a disk in a toroidal continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: A fine shape of the surface of either of both disk track faces 5b and 6c and the surface of a roller rolling face 7b comprises triangular fine recesses and projections formed of flat parts and dents in the rotating directions of both disks and the roller. The skewness Rsk thereof is -5 to 0. The averaged arithmetic mean roughness Ra of the track face of both disks and the rolling face of the roller is 0.01 to 0.12μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
