PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch high in water collecting efficiency on the upper face of the side ditch and easy to walk on safely. SOLUTION: This side ditch 1 has a side ditch block 10 wherein at least a part of the upper face of a body is formed as an opening 12, and a cover 30 installed at the opening 12. An upper face 31 of the cover is lower by one step than an upper face 17a of the edge 17 in the longitudinal direction L of the opening 12, and a ditch 6 extending in the longitudinal direction L with the width W of the cover 30 is formed in the upper face 5 of the side ditch 1. Since the shallow ditch 6 with the wide width W can be formed on the upper face 5 of the side ditch 1, the water collecting efficiency is high without walking and running difficulties.
