PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a front passenger seat having a developed and expanded airbag capable of restraining a passenger near a suitable position, and suppressing interference with an obstacle even when the obstacle with height generally same an upper surface level of an instrument panel is disposed near the instrument panel. SOLUTION: The airbag device M for the front passenger seat comprises the airbag 10 that can expand when gas flows in, and a case 45 storing and holding the folded airbag. The airbag is made to be an annular element comprising a center hole 11 penetrating in a generally vertical direction at the time of finishing the expansion and finishing the expansion so as to close the center hole. The airbag comprises inner peripheral side base cloth 22 in an inner peripheral surface side of the center hole, and outer peripheral surface side base cloth 26 in an outer peripheral surface side. In a front part side of the base cloth 26, a gas flow inlet 18 attached to the case at a peripheral edge is arranged. An opening 11a in a lower part side of the center hole is expanded at the time of expanding, and a lower part side peripheral edge 12a of the center hole is moved downward, thereby finishing the expansion.
