PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing equipment which can shorten the time required for adjustment for enabling a printhead to accurately perform a control operation. SOLUTION: This printing equipment is equipped with: the printhead 5 which can move in a main scanning direction, and which is used for forming an image on paper 2; a paper sensor 16 which is provided in the printhead 5 so as to detect the paper 2 moved in a subscanning direction; and a control part 22 wherein a control reference position to make the printhead 5 perform the control operation is detected in advance by means of the paper sensor 16 in the main scanning direction, and which performs control for the printhead 5 in accordance with detected positional information.
