A compact, portable fitness trainer for exercising back muscles has a central housing (1) comprising two plastic half shells and with an inner sprung mechanism for two pivot arms (2, 3). The user grips the arms with arms outstretched forwards and presses the padded (8) side of the housing against the chest. The exercise is performed by pulling the arms outwards in opposing directions and working against the springs. The trainer is easily stored in a compact space.
