METHOD OF PURIFYING SUCCINIC ACID FROM FERMENTATION LIQUID

A succinic acid-containing liquid which contains succinic acid and cations and has been obtained by the fermentation or enzymatic method is brought into contact with an H-form, strongly acidic cation-exchange resin used in an amount not smaller than equivalent to the cations excluding hydrogen ions contained in the succinic acid-containing liquid. Crystals of succinic acid are precipitated from the ion-exchanged liquid obtained. Thus, purified succinic acid is produced.
