Ionic polyether macro-surfactants with >=2 double bonds are new. Ionic polyether macro-surfactants with >=2 double bonds and of formula (I) are new. [Image] R1>optionally branched and/or multi-bonded and/or heteroatom- containing 1-21C hydrocarbon residue, -(Alk-O)f-(Alk-O)g-; Alk-O : 2-12C hydrocarbon oxide residue; R3>-(Alk-O)g-(Alk-O)r-X or -(CH2)k- CR5>:CH2; R2>, R4> and R5>H or methyl; X : an (in)organic acid residue; a, b, c or h : 0 or 1; d, e and k : 0 or 6 (sic); n and m : 0 or 1 and n + m >=1 with the free valency satisfied by H when n or m =0; f, g, q and r : 0-100; A : a phenylene, amino or pentaerythriyl residue group of formula (A) - (D); R : 1-4C alkyl; and p : 0-3. An independent claim is also included for preparation of macro-surfactants (I).
