<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image displacement detection device which correctly calculates the position of a reference pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The detection device successively reads image displacement detection patterns from a detection sheet having prints of image displacement detection patterns prepared for each color material used for a printing process, and thereby detects displacement in the main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction of the printed images. The detection device includes: a displacement amount calculation means 117 which reads a positionally known reference pattern provided outside the range in which the image position detection pattern is disposed and calculates an amount of displacement from the known position; and correction means 122 and 123 which, based upon the amount of displacement, correct the position in which the image displacement detection pattern is read. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
