<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of requiring time for processing because an address for designating a storage position of a symbol has to be generated at the time of decoding processing of a Huffman code. <P>SOLUTION: A Huffman decoder is provided with a decoding data storage register for storing symbols. A decoding data ID table obtained by listing code length and a position in the code length on the basis of Huffman coding information is created on the decoding data storage register (S12), and a corresponding symbol is stored at a corresponding position of the decoding data storage register (S14). Code length and a position in the code length are calculated for an inputted Huffman code (S20). When the code length and the position in the code length, i.e., a position on the decoding data ID table is given to the Huffman decoder, a symbol being decoding data can immediately be acquired (S22). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
