PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent secondary harmful effects, such as short circuiting caused from a deposition to an electrolytic capacitor itself and wiring, migration, and tracking, by changing the discharge direction of gas and vapor of driving electrolyte, produced when a pressure valve of the electrolytic capacitor operates, or by limiting the discharge direction to a predetermined range. SOLUTION: The electrolytic capacitor includes a cylindrical case with a bottom, a capacitor element, and a sealing body for sealing a case opening. An inlet path, which limits the discharge direction of the gas and the vapor of the driving electrolyte produced at operation in a prescribed direction, is formed on the pressure valve located on the sealing body. The inlet path of the pressure valve is formed of a thin wall, or, the pressure valve is composed of a thin film and a fastening having an inlet path.
