PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode wherein a readily emissive material is heated promptly and uniformly to emit stable electrons. SOLUTION: A filament (5a) is formed by winding a high melting-point metal material in a coil. Alkaline earth aluminate containing barium aluminate or alkaline earth aluminate containing the barium aluminate mixed with high melting-point metal powder at a prescribed rate is applied / filled in a cavity part of the filament (5a), which is heated / reduced, and activated in a hydrogen furnace for generating the readily emissive material (5b) to obtain the negative electrode wherein the readily emissive material (5b) is filled and fixed in the cavity part of the filament (5a).
