PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system with a cylinder resting mechanism of an internal combustion engine, capable of reducing manufacturing cost, by reducing the number of hydraulic switching means for supplying and discharging working oil pressure to an oil passage of a rocker shaft, and reducing the number of head side oil passages for connecting the hydraulic switching means and the oil passage. SOLUTION: A low speed mode OCV is connected to the front end of an exhaust side cylinder resting mode oil passage 57. The rear end of this cylinder resting mode oil passage 57 is connected to the rear end of a suction side cylinder resting mode oil passage 51 by metallic pipes 54 and 59 and a hose 60. Oil from the low speed mode OCV is supplied to the suction side cylinder resting mode oil passage 51 after passing through the exhaust side cylinder resting mode oil passage 57.
