PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removal means for a cap used when a membrane is taken out from a membrane module. SOLUTION: This cap removal means used for taking out a bundle of membranes from a vertical placement type membrane module is provided with a case housing having openings at both ends; the bundle of membranes stored in the case housing; and the cap closing both ends of the case housing and having an entrance and an exit of a liquid. The removal means has a rod-like grip part; a press part having a support shaft vertically provided on the grip part; a cylindrical joint part movably penetrated/mounted to the support shaft of the press part. The press part has a shape such that one end of the support shaft is fixed to a central part of the grip part, a fixed flat plate is provided on the other end and the cylindrical joint part can be detachably joined to the above entrance and the exit of the liquid of the cap. The rod-like press part has a screw on the support shaft and the cylindrical joint part has a thread screwed with the screw at an end surface part through which the support shaft penetrates.
