The invention relates to an automatic drive-through car wash in which the vehicles are conveyed along a path of conveyance by means of a drive between washing rotors disposed at both sides of the path of conveyance. Said car wash is provided with a rotating cleaning element which is disposed at an angle to the direction of conveyance of the vehicle and which essentially impinges the front, the hood and the roof area as well as the rear of the vehicle. Said cleaning element is supported by swiveled support arms that are disposed on both sides and that are supported by a shaft that extends overhead across the path of conveyance. The invention is characterized in that the cleaning element (15), in any position, is balanced relative to the vehicle by a displaceable parallelogram steer (14, 12, 21, 23) having counter-weights (19, 26) and rests on the vehicle with a defined contact force.
