<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-image forming system capable of shortening a time up to the start of a printing operation for a printing job, ensuring the degree of freedom of the selection of a printing mode. <P>SOLUTION: A host computer 100 has an image-data generating means, a color-plane decision means, a printing-mode changeover means and a printer driver 101. The printer driver 101 has a function as a mode indicating means. An image forming device 200 is composed of a controller 201, a printer engine controller 202 and a printer engine 203 as an image forming means. When an image data is generated from an original, whether or not a mode in an image formation is a black-and-white printing mode or a color printing mode is decided previously from the content of the printing mode indicated from the outside, and the carrying control of a recording material and the changeover of the control of a fixed temperature are started before the generation of the image data from the original is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
