<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which an appropriate tip margin can automatically be set even if difficult setting by an operator and setting in which special recording paper is used are not performed. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with: a paper discharge sensor 4 which is arranged in a right down stream position of a fixing device 3 and detects the passage of paper P; a time measuring means 61 measuring time T4 until the paper discharge sensor detects paper after a paper conveyance direction printing start signal is transmitted when the tip margin is adjusted; a time storage means 62 storing appropriate setting time T5 until the paper discharge sensor detects paper after the paper conveyance direction printing start signal is transmitted, which is appropriately set, so that the prescribed tip margin is set; and a control means 63 which automatically corrects signal transmission timing of the paper conveyance direction printing start signal so that measuring time measured by the time measuring means is matched with appropriate setting time stored in the time storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
