HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of suppressing the lowering of a temperature rising speed while suppressing the lowering of mechanical strengths and capable of suppressing the occurrence of a crack, and a manufacturing method therefor.

SOLUTION: In the honeycomb structure equipped with a honeycomb structural part including partition walls 2 for forming a plurality of cells 3 partitioned into a honeycomb shape and forming recessed parts 6 to the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structural part and the outer wall part 5 arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structural part, gaps are formed between the outer wall part 5 and the honeycomb structural part in the recessed parts 6.
