PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of smoothly displacing an imaging device base plate in a plane direction where an optical axis is set as a normal without causing friction or backlash and made advantageous to perform the correction control of image blur, for example. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1A is equipped with a photographic lens barrel 2 incorporating a photographing optical system 22, the imaging device base plate 3 on which an imaging device 31 is mounted, a supporting mechanism 4 supporting the base plate 3 so as to displace it in the plane direction and an actuator 5 displacing the base plate 3. The mechanism 4 has a base part 23 positioned ahead of the base plate 3, a wire rod 41 laid nearly in parallel posture with the optical axis 221 between the base part 23 and the base plate 3 and coupling them at least at three points, and a magnetic energizing means energizing the base plate 3 backward in a non-contact state by magnetic attractive force.
