PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cement admixture and a cement composition by which crack resistance under a low temperature atmosphere is improved and the setting is accelerated. SOLUTION: The cement admixture comprises an alkali metal silicate and a polyoxyalkylene derivative expressed by a general formula X[O(AO)<SB>n</SB>R]<SB>m</SB>, in the formula, X expresses a residual group of a compound having 2-8 hydroxy groups, AO expresses a 2-18C oxyalkylene group, R expresses a hydrogen atom, a 1-18C hydrocarbon group or a 2-18C acyl group, (n) is 30-1,000, (m) is 2-8 and≥60 mole % of the oxyalkylene group is an oxyethylene group.
