PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable drive control by evading the output of pulses whose accuracy is deteriorated or detecting the deteriorated pulses on an inlet and an outlet when a discontinuous part of marks is generated due to a belt mark having a seam or lack or dirt on a part of marks. SOLUTION: An error detection circuit comprises a binarizing circuit 20 for obtaining a pulse signal by binarizing a sensor signal which is an analog alternate signal outputted from a mark sensor, a low pass filter 21 in which interruption frequency is set to frequency lower than the signal frequency of the sensor signal and a comparator 22 for detecting a discontinuous part or a defect part of marks by the level of the sensor signal passed through the low pass filter 21 and outputting an error detection signal.
