PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide resin particles for toner and the toner, superior in shatter resistance, low-temperature fixing properties at, anti-offset properties, and separation properties, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: As the resin particles for the toner, for use in manufacturing the toner made by aggregating, fusing, and bonding the resin particles and colorant particles in a water medium, the resin particles are used which consist of: a first resin containing of a core layer and one or more coating layers for coating the core layer, in which the coating layer brought into contact with the core layer becomes a matrix; and a second resin, having a molecular weight larger than that of the first resin.
