PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize operation to open and close a thermostat valve and stabilize a mix water cooling temperature during the initial stage of temperature regulation and the transitional stage of temperature regulation. SOLUTION: At least one fan-shaped recessed part 14 is formed in a part of an umbrella-shaped plane part 9a on the needle 12 side of a main valve 9 of a thermostat valve 6, and a part of a lip 10 for closing situated in succession in the outer peripheral part of the main valve 9 and approximately in an annular state is formed in a state to be inclined to the wax expansion type thermal temperature sensitive part 11 side by an inclination amountΔt in a manner to coincide with the peripheral edge of the recessed part of the fan-shaped recessed part 14.
