PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shot blast device of a wire rod, with both of productivity and grinding and brushing quality more improved. SOLUTION: A transport device is provided with a speed detecting means for detecting the transport speed, a control device is provided with a target setting means for setting the target projection density of a blast body, and the relationship among the transport speed, the target projection density and the supply amount of blast body is stored. The control device controls the supply amount of blast body supplied to the blast body projection device on the basis of the detected speed and target projection density. The supply amount is controlled by the opening area of a gate means 26. The gate means includes: limit means 47, 47b for limiting the position of movement in the fully opening direction without limiting the position of movement in the totally closing direction; a first driving means 42 for setting the allowable fully opening position limited by the limiting means from the totally closing position to an arbitrary position in the fully opening position; and a second driving means for driving the gate means in the totally closing direction or the totally opening directoin within the allowable range of the limiting means.
