PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To report a dangerous situation to a driver and prevent accidents without interfering with driving by warning with vibrations. SOLUTION: An alarm device 10 for an automobile comprises a CPU 24 for detecting a distance from a dangerous object based on detection signals from a left side sensor 12, a right side sensor 14, and a rear sensor 16. When a vehicle approaches a dangerous object beyond a predetermined distance, for example, when the CPU detects a dangerous object approaching from behind while running, detects a dangerous object existing in the direction to go when the course is changed, or detects a dangerous object approaching obliquely from behind in the direction of changing the course, the CPU 24 warns the driver by controlling a driving device 32 and changing at least one of the followings: vibration order, vibration strength, and vibration time of some or all of vibrators 34a-34i arranged at a backrest of a driver's seat.
