In the path of the web (3), following the blade coater (6a, 6b) and located above the sides of the web (a, b), a non-contacting drier (7a) is removed. It is replaced by at least one curtain-coating unit (5a, 5b). The curtain coater is installed following the blade coater. It is installed above the running web, so the curtain (2) produced from it, falls from above onto the web. A non-contacting dryer is located ahead of the curtain coater. An air boundary layer remover (8) is located ahead of the curtain coater. The curtain- and blade coaters are installed to coat both web sides (a, b), or alternatively only one side is coated by their installation on only one side. The coating weight exceeds 20 g/m2>.
