A switch of an elevator is provided to effectively protect an inner light emitting unit by transferring most of the heavy impact through a cover frame to an outer frame, to increase readability of a character board by preventing lights from leaking through the rim of the character board, and to efficiently disperse the emitted lights by inserting a prism. A switch of an elevator comprises a switch installed in the elevator to operate the elevator and to open/close the elevator door; a fixing panel on which the switch is installed; an outer frame(100) formed of outer appearance of the switch and inserted into the fixing panel; a cover frame(110) combined with the outer frame to partially cover the upper side of the outer frame and exposed from the fixing panel to have a rim supported by the fixing panel; a light emitting unit(140) installed in the outer frame to operate the LED(Light Emitting Diode) through electric signals generated by external force; a buffering unit(150) transferring the external force to the light emitting unit; a prism(160) uniformly filtering intensity of illuminance by dispersing the emitted lights and transferring the external force to the light emitting unit; an inner frame(120) composed of the prism inside, moved a little in a direction of combining after combining with the outer frame, contacted on the cover frame in moving more than a certain distance through the external force, and supported by the cover frame; and a character board(130) made from transparent materials, fixed with the inner frame, and fitted on the cover frame to cover the rest of the upper side of the outer frame occupied by the cover frame.
