<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic vibrator and an ultrasonic motor using it, the cost of which can be cut by simplifying manufacturing processes and that make it possible to provide friction protruding portions precisely on a piezoelectric material stacked portion. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic vibrator 1 of this invention is a component for causing ultrasonic elliptic vibrations to occur to the friction protruding portions 4 by making the piezoelectric material stacked portion 2 generate a first vibration mode and a second vibration mode simultaneously. The friction protruding portions 4 are formed integrally with the piezoelectric material stacked portion 2 by baking. Also, the ultrasonic linear motor 20 of this invention is made up of the vibrator 1, a pair of guides 21 that moves relatively in contact with the friction protruding portions 4 of the vibrator 1, and plate springs 24 that press the vibrator 1 to the guides 21 with a prescribed thrust. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
