<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high performance catalyst for a fuel cell, high in hydrogen ion deviation ability and little in poisoning by CO. <P>SOLUTION: The subject catalyst composition for the fuel cell has a bulk density of ≥0.1 g/cc, a specific surface area of ≥300 m<SP>2</SP>/g by an N<SB>2</SB>adsorbing method and a noble metal supported on a carbon material. A carbon nanotube such as a two layer carbon nanotube is preferably used as the carbon material and at least one selected from Au, Ag, Pt, Rh, Ir, Pd, Ru and Os is preferably used as the noble metal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
