PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for applying an adhesive tape, enabling the adhesive tape to be smoothly released from a release liner. SOLUTION: The method for applying the adhesive tape 4 released from the release liner 6 onto the surface of an article 2 is characterized by facilitating releasing the adhesive tape 4 from the release liner 6 by heating the release area between the release liner 6 and the adhesive tape 4 to room temperature (20°C) to 80°C by any heating means enabling temperature control.
